Win Chuai Ngan and Sukanya Suthiprapa originally came to the US as indentured servants for a Los Angeles area garment factory. Their emancipation came four years later, along with a monetary settlement, which they invested in starting a Thai restaurant. Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program (API SBP) provided technical assistance with business and marketing plans, permits and licenses, a lease, and credit management.

In 2003, API SBP provided loan packaging assistance for a loan that helped Win and Sukanya to open a second location in February 2004. Their two restaurants have provided them with economic freedom while also creating a combined 12 total jobs (part and full time).
