Director of Programs and Operations
senglish@microbiz.org

Shufina English joined CAMEO in 2009 as the Director of Programs and Operations. She is responsible for directing the operations of the organization as well as managing several programs including CAMEO’s !Viva! Las Microempresas and the California Self-Employment Tax Initiative.

Before joining CAMEO Shufina worked as a business broker between US Manufacturers, and South American textile factories where she became a specialist in sustainable, organic, and fair trade business practices.  She developed significant ongoing business (both mass and niche oriented) within the sector. An entrepreneur at heart, Shufina has years of business and product development experience in the private sector having assisted with the initiation and growth of multiple small businesses across a variety of sectors. As a “stay at home mom” she developed a successful home based financial services business and concurrently developed a successful outside family business. Well aware of the exigencies that micro entrepreneurs face, she is also fully cognizant of the rewards and benefits (both tangible and intangible) that can be achieved with dedication and hard work. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in business from San Francisco State University. Fluent in Spanish and conversant in Italian and French, she loves to travel, and loves to dance. Incidentally, she has taken this second passion and created her own micro enterprise, www.campswing.com, now California’s longest running revival swing dance camp, conceived at the kitchen table and successful every year since 1998!
