Business consulting is an essential component of a successful microenterprise
program. An excellent consultant must understand how to operate
a small business, know how to teach and be a good listener and motivator.
While you can't train someone to be a good consultant, you can set
the standards that result in excellent business consulting practices.
The workshop will cover:
- The consultant screening and selection process.
- Managing the consultant/program/client relationship, particularly
with contracted or volunteer consultants.
- Organizing your program systems for client tracking and record
keeping.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the consultant.
- Consulting "do's" and "don'ts" that everyone
should know.
Ask questions by voice or online via text messaging and share your
experiences in using consultants in your microenterprise program.

staff involved with managing or working with consultants as well
as consultants themselves.
Cost: $35 per organization*

registration fee. As many people as can participate on one phone
line are welcome to attend for no additional charge. If you desire
additional phone lines, they will be charged at $10.
