Gloria

Tired of selling timeshares, in 2005 Gloria began to look for a new career path. She found a listing for the sale of Parkside Postal, a San Francisco neighborhood mailing and postal business. When Gloria met with the owner, who had decided to retire, she was confident she could run the business even though the industry was new to her.

Gloria opened her business in 2006, and with a $1,600 loan from CAMEO member Opportunity Fund she was able to make important renovations. A subsequent $5,000 loan allowed her to launch a more concerted marketing campaign to build her client base, as well as renew her notary license to increase revenues.

Parkside Postal is now a thriving local business and important asset to the local community. Gloria and her business exemplify the additional value micro enterprise brings to local communities.
